Blackout Location Game
Blackout is a mobile location game created by University of Minnesota Duluth art and design students, designed to explore digital interactive media and encourage the community and other students to get outside during the spring, coinciding with the Homegrown Music Festival in downtown Duluth. Inspired by the breakout craze of Pokemon Go, we decided to create our own take on mobile gaming using phones and QR codes.
A bizarre crime has occurred involving someone close to you, and you are the prime suspect! On the run from the police, you must retrace your steps to find out what happened the night before.Players, placed in the center of a murder mystery story, traveled along the Duluth lakewalk using clues to reveal the next part of the story with a unique twist ending.
